Click to expand.Unfortunately I barely know enough to phrase an intelligent question, but here goes. BTW, I will shortly download and install the software and experiment on my own, but I would certainly appreciate hearing from other readers in the know.Specifically for an updated X-T1, does this software (a) allow tethered shooting without additional software (i.e., images go directly to a specified folder on a computer), and (b) does this software allow export and import of camera settings (i.e., shooting menu, playback menu, settings menu, and related settings)? I have 3 X-T1 bodies and try to maintain identical settings for each (excepting MAC address, Auto Save, and the like). Click to expand.
Which is so far what I've observed after installing the software. The software allows saving camera settings to a.dat file and restoring settings to the same (or another identical) camera with no fuss. I have 3 X-T1 camera bodies so this is helpful. It also allows direct transfer of image files to a selected folder on the (in my case) PC. In the settings menu I set USB mode to 'Auto' but otherwise made no changes. I will play with this for a bit more, but so far it's pretty good for the price.
Click to expand.I've now used X Acquire software to clone a third X-T1 body based on my other cameras. See Please login or register to view links. It makes sense to set up the cameras identically, but doing so manually is tedious and prone to error. A while back I posted a 'feature request' that Fuji allow the ability to copy camera settings from one body to another, but I never expected this to happen. Now it has, even for my older cameras. I can always return to 'base' settings no matter what's changed during use.
My testing hasn't been all inclusive, but here's what I've seen so far. When settings are transferred, certain aspects of the setup menus peculiar to each camera are changed (e.g., save data settings that indicate file names, etc.). These must be reset manually. It also seems that AutoSave settings for WiFi file transfer may be affected (or lost), but this is unclear. The most obvious issue was that while Q menu categories transfer successfully, actual Q menu settings for the 7 custom settings do not and must be set manually.
Download and Install For downloading Fujifilm X Acquire, people can access the links below for Windows and Mac. After the file has been downloaded, it can be double clicked for installing. Download Fujifilm X Acquire Version 1.7 Installer Software for Windows OS: Fujifilm X Acquire Version 1.7 Installer Windows Software - Download File Name. This software is to install the FUJIFILM X Acquire to your PC. The software update Ver.1.15.0 from Ver.1.10 incorporates the following issue: 1. RAW FILE CONVERTER EX 2.0 powered by SILKYPIX Installer for Windows/Mac.
I use 'C1' for base camera settings and the other 6 for particular.jpg combinations. There are a few other peculiarities that escape me just now, but I'm quite pleased with the additional capabilities of my 'extinct' cameras.Added Note for X-T1: In the added features description for the X-T1 FW 5.2 update, the following statements occur:To use this function, one of the PC application software below is required. Tether Shooting Plug-in PRO for Adobe® Photoshop® Lightroom® Ver.1.6(.1) Tether Shooting Software HS-V5 for Windows® Ver.1.6 (.2)This is not the case, unless one is transferring directly to Lightroom. I.e., if transferring directly to a separate folder, the transfer occurs without either the LR plug-in or HS-V5. The web site statements are also incorrect with respect to settings backups, which require only X Acquire. How or why backup might relate to Lightroom is far from obvious.
Click to expand.I didn't understand exactly what you are referring to. Anyway, just in case you missed this, the closest you can get to tethered shooting in LR without a plugin is indeed to use X-Acquire to send to to a specific folder, and in LR specify this folder as a 'watched folder'. If you then go into the library module and call this folder, you'll see the pictures appear as they are shot (use big previews, that's a nicer experience!). The folder can be a folder on another computer on the network, you don't have to run long cables. The last tab of Xacuire can list a program that is triggered at each shot, you probably have Lightroom in this tab.I have no clue that each shot opens another window of same program, that looks a bit stupid. Hopefully someone chimes in with a trick for that, I'd like to know also. But if you delete Lightroom there in that Xacuire last tab, and use the tip that Dirk Offringa just posted 2 posts ago, the pic will go to the designated folder and Lightroom will pick it up in that folder.Same goes for Capture One. You can change the Xaquire designated folder to the appropriate CAPTURE folder of a specific C1 session, or you can choose any folder and in Capture One Session then re-assign that folder as your new Capture folder.BTW the WIFI doesn't work well in my Xaquire in Windows10, it doesn't work, then works for no apparent reason, to quit working on a next session, I can't nail why it sometimes works and sometimes not.
The USB works very well though.
